The Difference Between Pharmacy and Drug Store
Usually a “pharmacy” is the part of the drug store where they process the prescriptions. The “drug store” may contain a pharmacy as well as other departments where you can buy things like like aspirin, vitamins, tissues. These days a drug store has morphed into a department store that happens to contain a pharmacy.
Can A Teenager Work in Pharmacy?
Pharmacists in the U.S. require a lot of education and licensing. Technicians or assistants also require certification. So, it’s rare to find a teenager working as a pharmacy technician. On the other hand, in certain location, a 16 years old may get hired as cashier at CVS, though it is believed the managers prefer 18 so you can sell alcohol.

Minimum age to work at drugstores is generally 18 year old. No one under the age of 18 is hired due to the laws and regulations of selling tobacco and alcohol, while drugstores like Walgreens, CVS and Rite Aid sell alcohol.
